The “Maker in China” SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest (SME IEGC), focally directed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, is an annual global contest aiming at connecting innovative technologies with enterprises, innovation and technology (I&T) projects with industrial parks, marketing operation with government policies, and facilitating collaborative innovation in the industry and industrial upgrading. The contest recruits innovative technology companies all over the world who are interested in entering the China market, and compete in their regional chapter contests for a place in the Final.
 
Winning teams of the Hong Kong Chapter will represent Hong Kong to compete in the “Maker in China” SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest. Top 10 finalists also have the opportunity to conduct business matching with enterprises and investors from Mainland China, thereby expanding their business and gaining exposure in the Mainland.
