Financial SaaS products have been proliferating for some years. Yet, solutions for equity management for private companies have remained a minority. Consequently, companies, investors, administrators, and shareholders that manage or keep track of a company’s stakeholder information often have to rely on offline processes, wasting time and money and scavenging details from spreadsheets and scattered documents or hiring advisors to do so.

Cyberport community member Sprout has developed a digital and highly scalable solution to solve these pain points. Among the features are tools for managing capitalisation tables; individual shareholder accounts; designing, granting, and administering employee stock options and vesting schedules; issuing and tracking digital shares; and performing scenario modelling for upcoming rounds and exits. Because it is a single source of truth for stakeholder information, Sprout even enables investors to assess the portfolio companies’ information using the same set of lenses without having to compare spreadsheets.

Since launching in 2019, Sprout has serviced more than 100 companies across 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Middle East/Africa, Europe, and North America.

Sprout’s founders credit this rapid success to their “focusing singularly on product development” and making the decision when to “draw the line and launch the product” as soon as feasible. In this way, the founders quickly validated their product-market fit, iterate on improvements and refine the sales process and cycle. Cultivating investor relationships early also helped, as investors were able to follow Sprout’s growth. This placed the start-up in a better position to close their external round of funding in a very short four weeks.

Plans are now being crafted to establish a development center in Beijing and a go-to-market presence in Singapore to cover the rapidly growing Southeast Asian market.

Sprout is also offering a three-month free trial for Cyberport incubatees, community members and alumni. Interested parties can visit here for details and receive additional discounts.
