While I&T career prospects are driving new heights to capture digital transformation under new normal, the growing demand for I&T knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experiences contributed to the banner years of the Cyberport Academy and the Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP).

At the Cyberport Academy Premiere cum CUPP 2020/21 Graduation Ceremony, Cyberport reported that more than 3,500 talents have benefitted from the Academy’s activities and programmes since the Academy’s launch a year ago. CUPPers received their long-awaited Demo Day pitching results. Each of the eleven teams that were selected winners will receive HK$100,000 in seed funding to bring their ideas to the prototype stage and to enjoy a fast track to the Cyberport Incubation Programme.

The top three teams were also awarded the new IESE Business School Young Talent Path Award, where they will attend the Young Talent Path programme and entrepreneurship bootcamp in Barcelona this or next summer.  Travel expenses to be sponsored by Cyberport.

Dr. George Lam, Chairman of Cyberport, said, “As the digital technology flagship and key innovation and technology driver for Hong Kong, Cyberport spares no effort to promote and facilitate the development of digital technology. We will continue to cultivate tech talents and equip our youth with relevant skills to align with Hong Kong’s innovation and technology development demands and give new impetus to local tech ecosystem.”

The Cyberport Academy will continue to connect more students, teachers, and industry practitioners to the learning resources, enrichment courses, training programmes, and internship opportunities offered by leading technology companies, business organisations and tertiary institutions from around the world.  The Academy’s global partners currently include AWS, IBM, Microsoft (offering free online learning portal), as well as renowned academia like Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), Tecnológico de Monterrey, University of New South Wales, and more will be collaborated.
