On 10 September, Cyberport jointly hosted the Hong Kong stop of the ITC+DIA World Tour  along with InvestHK and Hong Kong Science Park.  It is a mega InsurTech event co-presented by InsureTech Connect (ITC), the world’s largest InsurTech event from the US, and Digital Insurance Agenda (DIA), Europe’s leading InsurTech conference.
 
Virtually touring 35 stops in 6 continents, the three-week World Tour brings together insurance heavyweights and InsurTech companies from around the world to share their latest developments and thought leadership in InsurTech, as well as to showcase their innovative solutions.
 
At the Hong Kong stop, Cyberport’s community members: virtual insurer OneDegree’s Alvin Kwock and InsurTech solution provider CoverGo’s Tomas Holub spoke at a panel session, to exchange views on the latest market trends with representatives of the Insurance Authority, InvestHK and Intact Ventures..
 
Pitching competitions are also being held at each stop. In Hong Kong, three of Cyberport’s InsurTech start-ups, Galileo Platforms, HedgeSPA, and Ignatica, pitched their solutions against four other local start-ups.
 
Eric Chan, Cyberport’s Chief Public Mission Officer, considered the World Tour and Hong Kong Stop “excellent occasions” for the whole industry to gain a deeper understanding about the developments of the global InsurTech ecosystem. “Cyberport’s growing InsurTech community now comprises not only virtual insurers but also an array of solutions providers that are helping traditional insurance companies transform for the digital age. The event is great for InsurTech companies to build networks, capture growth opportunities, and showcase their work.”
