WealthTech solutions have been expanding in choice and specialisation in recent years. To introduce more industry players to the powers and potential of WealthTech, Cyberport organised a WealthTech Demo Day in partnership with the Chinese Financial Association of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute).

During the two-day event, Cyberport showcased the solutions of seven start-ups, offering an amuse-bouche of this fantastic technology to inspire more in the securities sector to adopt and even co-create WealthTech solutions with start-ups.

As Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport, explained: “WealthTech can make wealth management services, advice, and personalised investment products more accessible. This can help financial institutions acquire new customers, boost their competitiveness, and speed up their digital transformation.”

The solutions displayed spanned a great variety, including virtual assistant for investment, algorithm-driven wealth management platform, AI trading platform for securities company, AI IPO document review, and verification system.

Ruth Kung, Chief Executive of the HKSI Institute, said: “By providing an enabling environment for start-ups to connect with the financial services community and work together to enhance wealth management services through WealthTech, we can advance Hong Kong’s position as an asset and wealth management centre.”

WealthTech Demo Day was the latest addition to the FinTech Demo Day series that Cyberport, Hong Kong’s FinTech hub, has been organising to catalyse FinTech co-creation, adoption, and development.  Recently the RegTech Demo Day was held to provide a platform to showcase the RegTech solutions of seven start-ups to the banking sector.

The Fintech Proof-of-Concept Subsidy Scheme, launched by Cyberport earlier this year, aims to encourage traditional financial institutions to partner with FinTech companies to develop innovative financial applications, with the promise of accelerating the digital transformation of the financial industry.
