Following a successful debut in 2019, the Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum (DELF) will return for a new edition on 11 and 12 December in a hybrid setting at Hong Kong Cyberport.

This time around, the signature conference will cast the spotlight on the “New Normal of Digital Entertainment: From Gamification to Esportification”. The event will adopt a hybrid model of physical and virtual formats for the first time, enabling industry players and enthusiasts to join in person, or virtually.

Although the pandemic has kept live esports events on the bench and weighed down the gaming and esports industry, global lockdowns and the new normal have also generated new growth opportunities for online esports competitions and digital entertainment.  DELF 2020 will tap into over 30 hot topics discussed by more than 60 international and local industry experts and innovators, addressing the mega trends and game changers, emerging market drivers, platforms and enablers, new monetisation models, business cases, technology, talent and career developments, as well as collegiate esports.

More than just a forum, DELF also comes with sheer excitement and esporting actions featuring a series of live tournaments, show matches, performances, hands-on game experiences, start-up showcases, pitching contest, virtual showcases – guaranteeing an all-encompassing, captivating esports and digital entertainment experience for both online and live audiences.

Beyond the main event days on 11-12 December, the virtual event platform and the physical Game Zone in Cyberport will continue to open till early January 2021 to facilitate industry players to network virtually as well as to extend the digital amusement to visitors throughout the holiday season.

This year, DELF will also leverage blockchain-powered rewards platform for earning points from viewing forum sessions, participating in games, visiting virtual showcases, and spending in the Arcade@Cyberport.  Gift redemption is another highlight for DELF attendees to enjoy more fun during the festive season.

Same as last year, the popular month-long digital entertainment extravaganza, DE*Spark, will feature an array of spectacular esports tournaments and gaming events for enthusiasts and casual players alike to delve in some exhilarating gaming fun and to round up the year with an upbeat finish.
